Awareness of the target audience

The target audience for my brochure is families and tourists that will come and visit the Southbank area. I have produced a brochure for the creative and media scene at Southbank which is situated in London. My aim was to produce a brochure that would suite the needs of The Southbank Marketing Group which are dedicated to supporting the Southbank.

I very pleased with my final outcome as it is suitable for my target audience and meets the brief to a satisfactory standard. I have used a suitable colour scheme that does not clash as well as suitable typography that is digestable for my target audience to read. I have also included photography that has been taken myself to meet the brief.

1.4-Final product

This is my final front cover of my brochure. It has a collage of titles of places that are possible to visit at the Southbank. It has an image of the London Eye, Big Ben and people visiting. Using Photoshop I have fading the colouring so hat the colours of the different images look almost the same sort of colour. I have made sure that the colours in my brochure do not clash but is still eye catching due to the fact that I have included a collage, large white typography, the London Eye and people so that the target audience can put themselves in these peoples shoes as if they were the ones visiting the Southbank. I have used the slogan 'In The Heart Of London', to show people that the Southbank is in the centre of London. The fact that it is in the heart suggests that this place is very friendly and heartwarming to the people that come into it.

This is the middle page for my brochure. I have focused on one aspect of the Southbank which is the BFI IMAX cinema. I have included what is showing at the cinema, the dates and an image for what the films look like. I have continued the colour of blue so that my brochure is consistent. I have also continued the idea of a collage and large white typography. I have made sure that the writing does not clash with the background and is spaced out appropriately so that people will be able to read it without any problems. On this page I have used a Despicable Me character to liven up my brochure and give it some character.

This is the back cover for my brochure. Just like all the other pages in my brochure I have carried on the colour of blue with large white typography with faded images of the BFI IMAX cinema and the Hayward gallery. So that people know exactly where the Southbank is I have included a map in the bottom right hand corner. I have also provided information of all the different places that people can visit when they come to the Southbank so that they are aware of what type of places are in the Southbank area. I have made sure that my writing is spaced out appropriately in sections so people can select the bits that they want to read easier.

1.4 Drafts of a guide to the creative and media scene in the Southbank

For my first idea for my southbank brochure front cover I used the colour black for my background so that it looks professional. I have used a person with a thinking bubble coming from their head showing the possible places to go when they are at the Southbank. I have chosen a bold straight typography that is quite large so that it catches the eye of passers by.

The second idea for my brochures front cover is to use the colour blue for the background. I have chosen this colour because it seems fresh, vibrant and welcoming. I have used the London Eye for my main image due to the fact that a lot of people know the London Eye. There is a red heart to symobolise that Southbank is in the heart of London.

For my double page spread I have chosen to carry on the colour black so that the brochure will look consistant all the way through. I have added in red corners to make the brochure look professional as this colour goes well with the colour black. It will have 1-2 medium sized images, will tell people what is happening at the Southbank and what they can get involved in.

This is my second idea for my double page spread of the brochure. So that it is consistant all the way through I have continued with the colour blue and the red heart that symbolises the heart of London. It will have one medium sized image on both sides of the double page. I have used a bold typography so that it will catch the eye of passers by.

For my back cover the colours are continued so that it is consistant however there will be more imagery added in and information about the upcoming events as well as a map to show people where the Southbank is so that they know where to go to find certain places that they want to visit.
For my first idea for the back cover I will add a collage of images so that it is eye-catching and looks good with 2 columns of information for the events that are happening. For my second idea for my back cover there will be two main images with 2 columns of information that will tell people about the events happening.
